Endangered Folk Arts of India Exhibition & Sale

International Indian Folk Art Gallery (IIFAG), Australia in partnership with Kalasparsha group, India proudly presents some of the “Endangered Folk Arts of India”

We will be curating a unique collection of 80 artifacts, 40 handpicked artworks from all parts of the country and another 40 winning artworks from Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021 (see below for details).

These artworks will be exhibited for sale at Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall, Mumbai, India from 28th February – 5th March, 2022.

Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021 - Competition Update

Competition Update: 5th Oct 2021

Dear Participants,

The submissions for Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021 ended this weekend successfully. We did extend the deadline by a couple of days to assist children who had their exams in September. Hopefully they all did well 🙂

All qualified artists (see list below) need to send their artwork to International Indian Folk Art Gallery’s office, either in Chennai, India or Melbourne, Australia address before 15th October 2021. Details have been sent to all participants via email. If you have not received your email, please contact support@indianfolkart.org 

*Instructions to send your artwork

  1. Each artwork must be signed and dated
  2. Artwork must be packed and sent safely, paper and canvas can be rolled up for shipping. IIFAG will not be responsible for any loss or damages.
  3. Each artwork must be clearly labeled at the back with the following information
    1. The artist’s name
    2. Artist e-mail address
    3. Artist mobile number
    4. Artist home address
    5. Size of the painting in centimeters.
    6. Approx. weight in grams (including packing)

The below is a tentative schedule for picking the winner for the Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021.

  1. All artwork must be physically posted to the IIFAG address and reach us by October 15, 2021.
  2. The panel of three judges will start scoring each artwork from October 15th, 2021. See the interview with judges on the judging criteria.
  3. Public voting will be open from October 15th, 2021. We will share the details and link in our next update.
  4. The technical judging process will close on 25th October 2021.
  5. Shortlisted Finalist will be announced on 25th October 2021
  6. Shortlisted Finalist must send video evidence to confirm that they created the artwork by October 30, 2021.
  7. Public voting will close on 1st November 2021
  8. Judges interview with finalists on 6th November 2021
  9. Winners announcement: 14th November 2021
  10. Exhibition and sale planned in Mumbai, India and Melbourne/Sydney, Australia (Dates and venue will be confirmed later)

Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021 for world’s best Indian folk artist

After the successful hosting of International Children’s Art Competition, Young Indian Folk Artist 2021, International Indian Folk Art Gallery (IIFAG) continues its pursuit to identify hidden & gifted talent to revive Indian Folk Art and Artists around the world.

LOK KALA RATNA AWARD 2021

IIFAG invites applications for the selection of Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, for world’s best Indian folk artist for the year 2021

Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, is an Annual International Indian Folk Art competition and Online exhibition for all Indian Folk Artists and presented by IIFAG Australia. The competition is open to all citizens of the world. Click here for details

₹280,000 TOTAL PRIZE MONEY (ACQUISITIVE PRIZE)

Indian Folk Artist will be competing in any of the below five Indian Folk Art Categories, these includes folk arts from the five regions of India, such as North, East, South, West and Central region. Please see list of suggested Indian Folk Arts in the below section

IIFAG is inviting children, amateur and professional artist to participate in the five categories of Indian Folk Arts. To register and submit, Click here

Entry Fees:

₹600 for First Artwork, ₹275 for second artwork

From each artist group, one winner will be selected from each of these five categories. Further, the highest ranking artist in the competition from each artist group will be awarded “Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021”. All winners will receive a cash prize, along with a certificate of recognition, free personal online gallery as “featured artist“.

Enrolment for Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, International Indian Folk Art competition will be open from 15th August to 30th September 2021. Winners will be announced on 14th Nov 2021

CASH PRIZES (ACQUISITIVE PRIZE)

Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021 will be awarded to one artist from each Artist Group.  Winners will be selected based on the highest competition score, from both Judges and Public voting process.

  2. Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, Group B (Cash Prize ₹ 15,000)
  3. Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, Group C (Cash Prize ₹ 25,000)
  4. Lok Kala Ratna Award 2021, Group D (Cash Prize ₹ 30,000)

IN ADDITION TWENTY (20) WINNERS WILL RECEIVE CASH PRIZES IN FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.
