International Indian Folk Art Gallery (IIFAG) Australia is a non-government organization, with fully registered and licensed operations also in India. India is a host to over 50 traditional indigenous folk arts. Read more>>. 

These beautiful folk arts have been passed on from generation to generation for over 3000 years. However, except for a handful, the rest of them are on the verge of extinction.

2. Guidelines For Submitting Artworks For Endangered Folk Arts of India - Largest Indian Folk Art Exhibition & Workshop (कलाकृतियां जमा करने के लिए दिशानिर्देश)

The deadline for registrations to participate in the Endangered Folk Arts of India, Exhibition and Workshop is 15th May 2022 (Final batch)

We are very pleased to share that 1012 artists have registered for this event, which will take place at Karnataka Chitra Kala Parishath in Bangalore from 16-19 June 2022.

Thank you so much!

Sadly, due to limited Gallery space, we may not be able to accept all artworks.

The criteria for the selection of artworks will be based on the following:

  1. Unique and original artworks
  2. Artworks that are enrolled and paid in full
  3. and preference will be given to underprivileged traditional artists and rare forms of Indian Folk Arts.
Note:
  • If you have not enrolled your artwork for approval, please do so immediately.
  • Once your artwork is approved, you will receive an email with a link to make payment for approved artwork.
  • Once you have made full payment, you will receive instructions to deliver the artwork before 10th June, 2022.

Requirements For Entry

International Indian Folk Art Gallery (IIFAG) Australia is inviting amateur and professional artists to participate in the largest Indian Folk Art Exhibition and Workshop, planned from 16th to 19th June, 2022 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, India.

Step-by-step process to enroll your artwork for exhibition:
  1. Register your interest to submit your best artwork for the exhibition. Deadline 15th May 2022 [final batch]
  2. Send high resolution image (s) of your artwork (+2MB) for approval by email before 30th May 2022. The email should have the following information (download template>>)

  3. Self attested declaration that the submitted artwork is your own creation and not copied or done by another artist (download template>>)
  4. Once your artwork is approved by IIFAG, please pay entry fees for the artwork(s) as early as possible but not later than the deadline, 30th May 2022 (Link and detailed information will be sent to you by email and also will be available on this page)

हमें इस बैठक खेद है कि गैलरी में सीमित स्थान के कारण, हम सभी कलाकृतियों को स्वीकार करने में असमर्थ है।

कलाकृतियों के चयन का मानदंड निम्नलिखित बातों के पर आधारित होगा:

1. अनोखी और मौलिक कलाकृतियां
2. कलाकृतियाँ जो पहले रजिस्टर्ड हैं और जिनका पूरा भुगतान किया जा चुका है।
3. वंचित पारंपरिक कलाकारों और भारतीय लोक कलाओं के दुर्लभ रूप को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।

टिप्पणी:

1. यदि आपने अपनी कलाकृतियों को अनुमोदन के लिए रजिस्टर्ड नहीं किया है, तो कृपया इसे तुरंत करें। नीचे दिए गए लिंक को देखें “कलाकृति प्रस्तुत करने के लिए दिशानिर्देश”
2. एक बार आपका आर्टवर्क स्वीकृत हो जाने पर, आपको स्वीकृत आर्टवर्क के लिए भुगतान करने के लिए लिंक के साथ एक ई-मेल भी प्राप्त होगा।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भारतीय लोक कला दीर्घा (IIFAG) ऑस्ट्रेलिया सबसे बड़ी भारतीय लोक कला प्रदर्शनी और कार्यशाला में भाग लेने के लिए शौकिया और पेशेवर कलाकारों को आमंत्रित कर रहा है। इस आयोजन की योजना 16 से 19 जून 2022 तक कर्नाटक चित्रकला परिषद, बैंगलोर में है।

3. Exhibition Entry Fees for Artworks (कलाकृतियों के लिए प्रदर्शनी प्रवेश शुल्क)

Entry fee for each artwork

  1. Small size (longest side less than 50cm): ₹ 1000
  2. Medium size (longest side 50 – 125cm): ₹ 2000
  3. Large size (longest side more than 125cm): ₹ 3000

4. Instructions to send your artworks (paintings)

Instructions to send artworks for Bangalore Exhibition

  1. As mentioned previously, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (CKP) Bangalore Gallery will only accept framed paintings that are to be hung on the Gallery walls. So it’s highly recommended to get your artwork framed. IIFAG can also get it framed for you, please see below details.
  2. All artworks must have following information (These details should be labelled on the back of each painting)
    1. IIFAG’s ARTWORK ID NUMBER,
    2. Artist name,
    3. address
    4. and contact details
  3. Payment for all approved artworks must be done before 30th May 2022.
  4. Delivery of artworks: All approved artworks must be sent to the below address by June 10, 2022. After this deadline, artworks will not be accepted for exhibition.

  5. If you intend to personally bring your artworks to Bangalore, these must be available at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (CKP) Bangalore on 15th June, at no later than 1:00 p.m. But you must inform us by email: support@indianfolkart.org before May 21, 2022
  6. Framing Services: IIFAG can provide assistance to get your canvas framed (stretched and stapled on a wooden frame), if you wish to get your artwork framed, please inform us in advance by email: support@indianfolkart.org before May 21, 2022.
    • The price for a frame is INR 70 per foot. For example, if your painting is 24 × 18 inches, then the total length of reeper for all four sides will be 24 + 24 + 18 + 18 = 84 inches. The price will be 7 × 70 = 490.
    • This price needs to be paid to IIFAG. Upon request, bank details will be provided by email
  7. Collecting Unsold Paintings: We would like all of the paintings in the exhibition to be sold, but it’s possible that some paintings may not find a new home.
    1. In such instances, IIFAG will inform the artists and it is their responsibility to collect their paintings from the gallery on the last day of the exhibition, 19th June 2022.
    2. If you are unable to collect your paintings, IIFAG will store these paintings for two weeks for collection from our Chennai office.
    3. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to these paintings after the two-week storage period.
    4. If you would like IIFAG to return these paintings through courier, we can organise this based on Cash on delivery or payment in advance.
    5. Kindly provide clear instructions by email: support@indianfolkart.org before May 21, 2022.

बैंगलोर प्रदर्शनी के लिए कलाकृतियां भेजने के निर्देश –

  1. जैसा कि पहले सूचित किया जा चुका है कि कर्नाटक चित्रकला परिषद (सीकेपी) बैंगलोर गैलरी केवल फ़्रेम किये गये चित्रों को ही स्वीकार करेगी जिन्हें गैलरी की दीवारों पर लटकाया जाना है। इसलिए यदि आपका आर्टवर्क फ्रेम हो तो बेहतर होगा। यदि नही है तो IIFAG भी इसे आपके लिए फ्रेम करा सकता है। फ्रेमिंग कराने के लिए विवरण नीचे देखें :-

  3. सभी प्रस्तुत कलाकृतियों का भुगतान 30 मई 2022 से पहले किया जाना चाहिए।

  5. यदि आप अपनी कलाकृतियों को खुद बैंगलोर लाने की सोच रहे है, तो ये कर्नाटक चित्रकला परिषद (सीकेपी) बैंगलोर में 15 जून को दोपहर 1:00 बजे तक उपलब्ध होनी चाहिए।
  6. फ़्रेमिंग के लिए सुविधाएं :-
    1. IIFAG आपके कैनवस को फ्रेम करने में सहायता प्रदान कर सकता है (लकड़ी के फ्रेम पर फैला हुआ और स्टेपल किया हुआ)। यदि आप अपनी कलाकृति को फ्रेम करवाना चाहते हैं, तो कृपया हमें 21 मई, 2022 से पहले ई-मेल: support@indianfolkart.org द्वारा पहले से ही सूचित करें।
    2. एक फ्रेम की कीमत 70 रुपये प्रति फुट है। उदाहरण के लिए यदि आपकी पेंटिंग 24 × 18 इंच की है, तो चारों भुजाओं के लिए रीपर की कुल लंबाई 24 + 24 + 18 + 18 = 84 इंच (7 फुट) होगी -कीमत । 7×70=490 होगी।
    3. और फ्रेमिंग का मूल्य आपको  IIFAG को देना होगा।
  7. बिना बिकी कलाकृतियां :-
    1. वैसे तो हमारा लक्ष्य प्रदर्शनी में प्रदर्शित सभी पेंटिंग के बिक जाने का है लेकिन यह संभव है कि कुछ पेंटिंग को नया घर न मिले अर्थात वो न बिके। ऐसे में, IIFAG कलाकृतियों के कलाकारों को सूचित करेगा और यह उनकी जिम्मेदारी है कि प्रदर्शनी के अंतिम दिन 19 जून, 2022 को गैलरी से उनके चित्रों को एकत्र करें।
    2. यदि आप अपने चित्रों को एकत्र करने में असमर्थ हैं, तो IIFAG इन चित्रों को 2 सप्ताह तक हमारे चेन्नई कार्यालय में सुरक्षित रख सकता है।
    3. हम दो सप्ताह की अवधि के बाद इन कलाकृतियों के किसी भी नुकसान या क्षति के लिए जिम्मेदार नही होंगे।
    4. यदि फिर भी आप चाहते हैं कि IIFAG  इन पेंटिंग्स को कूरियर सेवा के माध्यम से आपको वापस लौटाए, तो हम इसे कैश ऑन डिलीवरी या अग्रिम भुगतान के आधार पर व्यवस्थित कर सकते हैं।

06. When should the artwork be submitted?
A: Once the artworks are ready, they should be sent for approval by email immediately, all artworks must be approved and paid before 30th May 2022. See above “2. Guidelines For Submitting Artworks and template for sending by email

07. What kind of artifacts can be submitted?

A: All traditional Indian folk, tribal art and crafts can be submitted.

08. What will be the process for selection?

A: All artworks will be judged based on their originality, uniqueness and beauty. Artists will be given priority based on their submission of their artworks. So, do not submit close to the deadline. IIFAG management decision will be final.

09. Can I send multiple artworks from different folk art genre?

A: Yes, but they all must represent traditional folk arts of India. See reference article>>

10. Is their a template for sending the requested information by email?

A: Yes, we have a template. Download template from here>>

11. Should we send the artwork framed?

A: Yes, we highly recommend the artwork to be framed and sent. It should be ready to be hanged in the gallery. Artwork that are framed are easy to sell, compared to the ones without frame. You should include the costs of frame and shipping in the selling price. However, we will still accept artworks that are not framed.

12. Is their a entry fees?

A: Yes, we have entry fees for each artwork. This is mainly to eliminate non-serious artists, plus cover some of the costs of gallery and marketing expenses.

13. Where to deliver the artwork?

A: This information will be updated on 15th May 2022, plus communicated to all artists via emails.

14. How to deliver?

A: All artworks must have (1) artist name, (2) email and (3) mobile number at the back of each artifact. Artist can choose any preferred way to deliver their artwork, either with speedpost or courier services. IIFAG is not responsible for any damage during shipment.

15. Who will be responsible for insurance?

A: IIFAG will insure all artworks once it is received from the artist. Artist will be responsible for ensuring the artwork is insured during shipment for any damages.

16. How to collect unsold artworks from exhibition?

A: Artist can choose any preferred way to pick up their artwork, either with speedpost or courier services. IIFAG is not responsible for any damage during shipment. Upon receiving request from artist, IIFAG can pack and send the artwork back to artist’s nominated delivery address. In such cases, artist shall pay the costs for sending the shipment.

17. Should I attend the event in person?

A: No, you are not required to attend in person. However, you are welcome to do so at your own costs.

18. Will I get a participation certificate ?

A: Yes, all artists will receive a participation certificate, both as hardcopy and softcopy.

19. Is their a prize money ?

A: Yes. IIFAG will judge the best artwork in the exhibition and present the best artwork with a cash prize and trophy.

20. Who will judge the artwork?

A: A team of three judges from IIFAG will review and score the artwork.

21. Who will pay for travel costs to visit the exhibition?

A: IIFAG will only pay for artists, who will be selected for running workshops during the exhibition. All other artists will have to make their own arrangements, if they wish to attend the exhibition.

22. Who will pay for hotel costs to visit the exhibition?

A: IIFAG will only pay for artists, who will be selected for running workshops during the exhibition. All other artists will have to make their own arrangements, if they wish to attend the exhibition.

06. कलाकृति कब प्रस्तुत की जानी चाहिए?

07. किस प्रकार की कलाकृतियां प्रस्तुत की जा सकती हैं?

उत्तर: सभी पारंपरिक भारतीय लोक, आदिवासी कला और शिल्प प्रस्तुत किए जा सकते हैं।

08. चयन की प्रक्रिया क्या होगी?

11. क्या हमें तैयार की गई कलाकृति भेजनी चाहिए?

उत्तर: हां, हम अत्यधिक कलाकृति को तैयार करने और भेजने की सलाह देते हैं। इसे गैलरी में टांगने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। बिना फ़्रेम वाली कलाकृति की तुलना में फ़्रेमयुक्त कलाकृति को बेचना आसान होता है। आपको बिक्री मूल्य में फ्रेम और शिपिंग की लागतों को शामिल करना चाहिए। हालांकि, हम अभी भी उन कलाकृतियों को स्वीकार करेंगे जिन्हें फ़्रेम नहीं किया गया है।

15. बीमा के लिए कौन जिम्मेदार होगा?

उत्तर: कलाकार स्पीडपोस्ट या कूरियर सेवाओं के साथ अपनी कलाकृति लेने के लिए कोई पसंदीदा तरीका चुन सकते हैं। शिपमेंट के दौरान किसी भी नुकसान के लिए IIFAG जिम्मेदार नहीं है। कलाकार से अनुरोध प्राप्त होने पर, IIFAG कलाकृति को पैक कर सकता है और कलाकार के नामित वितरण पते पर वापस भेज सकता है। ऐसे मामलों में, कलाकार को शिपमेंट भेजने की लागत का भुगतान करना होगा।
