Description
Kerala mural paintings are the frescos depicting Hindu mythology in Kerala. Ancient temples and palaces in Kerala, India, display an abounding tradition of Mural paintings mostly dating back between the 9th to 12th centuries CE.
In my painting Navarasa , I have followed Kerala mural style and tried to depict the basic nine kinds of facial expressions in the slokas of Abinaya Darpanam. The expressions are as follows: Sringaram(Love), Veeram(Valour), Karunam(Pathos), Adbhudam(Wonder), Hasyam(Ridicule), Bhayanakam(Fear), Bheebhalsam(Disgust), Roudram(Anger), Shantham(Tranquility). The painting is done using acrylic on canvas.
