Born and raised in Chennai I have lived in Dubai before calling Melbourne home for the last 15 years. My professional life flows like a river on the path of my family life.

Stay at home mum for 7 years, University student with toddlers, Part-time worker with high school-going children, now full-time worker along with a private practice in counselling.

Staying put in one place and working on a single project was never my thing. So, my connection to art is as an enthusiastic Spectator.

Never consider me as an artist, until this year of lockdown -2020, I challenged myself to learn Tanjore painting. That too in its traditional form. A great uphill task however enjoying the journey thoroughly. That is the beauty of art right! Highly rewarding mindful therapy to solve many issues.

Not sure, if I will succeed as an artist nonetheless my respect for artistically gifted people has grown leaps and bounds.

The lives of traditional artists and folk artist have always intrigued me. In one of my recent travels, I was disappointed to see not many traditional art forms of India being represented in their collection of world-famous painting. This thought was actually the brainchild to form the International Indian Folk Art Gallery.

Together with my husband Senthil Vel we have taken a step in a direction with the hope to revive traditional Indian art and give it the respect it royally deserves. Do join us in our journey, contact us for feedback or comments.
