Originated and practiced by the tribal Gond community of Madhya Pradesh, India. Painted with dots and dashes or short lines intricately. A form of Mural painting, done beautifully on the walls and floors as part of festival celebrations. Primarily using natural pigments for colors from vegetables, flowers, cow dung, mud, etc
The subjects largely represent forest settings, with animals, trees, birds, and Hindu gods. The designs and patterns selected are based on the rituals and traditions of the Gond community.
