I , Kavita Harkut born in Akola, Maharashtra India. As my father had a transferable job so got opportunity to work in different cities. This has also provided me opportunity to travel with him and learn local arts along with my schooling,
I completed my Master’s degree in” Computer Management” and also completed 3 yrs.diploma course in Fashion Designing from Mumbai University. This helped me to learn lots of things, strokes, color combinations etc.
I continued to nourish my art hobby and learned many things like Hand embroidery, greetings, Ekebana (flower arrangement), garland making, Mehandi, fabric painting. Best out of waste and many more. During this journey I got number of awards in various competitions at local level.
My Mother, Father & Grandmother also has interest in art and I learned lot of traditional arts, crafts from them as well. They are my first guru’s and they are the one due to which my interest in Art’s developed and nurtured. My elder brother is very supportive and encourages me a lot. He inspired and supported me in painting of all doors, walls and windows of our home. We almost created a small art gallery at my home.
My father loves to travel a lot and I got opportunity to travel with him throughout India. During this, I spent time with local artists and learned lot of things about local traditional art of different states. This way I got opportunity to learn many Indian Art Forms & eager to learn many more.
After marriage I dedicated more time to my family, friends, relatives and kids. I have two kids ,elder son and younger daughter & understanding husband. During this I also kept learning new things.As my kids are growning up, I am refocusing on my hobbies.
I started my hobby classes,got associated with many organizations for teaching art and craft .Now started conducting online workshops as Fevicryl expert .
During this journey I read article on Masan Paining by Artist Madhusudan Dasji & got inspired & made Painting ..” Masan Painting ” Is one of my unique painting .
During this pandemic I came to know about International folk art gallery and was amazed with the concept of promoting Indian Art Internationally.
I would really like to thank Senthil Vel Sir and his team for creating such a wonderful platform for promotion of Indian Art. I am really happy to associate with this platform and hope I would be able to contribute in promoting Indian art globally.
