Suhasini Vinayak is a self-taught artist from Chennai, India. Even as a child, she found art as a wonderful way to express herself. Happy or sad, art became her elixir and a friend. A part time teacher and a blogger now, her passion for art always takes an upper hand over anything else. Her brushes, paint, papers and music give her a kind of joy nothing else can. Her love for Indian folk art is strong as she loves the simplicity and cultural touch reflected in these art forms. Each of these art forms has so much meaning and beauty attached to it and it is only fair that we flaunt it to the world. They are much more than just colourful art pieces that we hang on our walls. They have so much emotion and detail and have beautiful stories to tell.
Suhasini works majorly with acrylics and India ink while working on her folk art. Apart from that she loves to work with watercolors for freestyle paintings and loves to doodle her thoughts when she feels a need to do so. Doodling what’s on the mind and captioning it with words that best reflect the doodle is her style. The best thing about art is, she says, it gives you a space to be yourself. It reflects your mood and absorbs what you feel. The emotion and soul you see in any art is a piece of the artist himself/herself and that is why it is so special and personal. In art, she says, she finds true liberation.
